|The effectiveness of radiotherapy were evaluated in 138 plasmacytoma patients retrospectively. In 85% there was a pain reduction and in 45% a recalcification. Completeness of therapy, age <60 years and a single dose of 2 Gy were important for pain relief; concurrent chemotherapy, no fractures and a dose of ≥40 Gy for recalcification. Patients with a poor prognosis profit from short-term schemes (1x8-10x3 Gy). 40-50 Gy are required for the best possible pain relief and recalcification.
