The in situ infrared spectroscopy has become a powerful method for the investigation of reaction mechanisms in homogenous catalysis. This work presents the available measurement techniques, discusses the necessary requirements for an effective utilization and emphasizes the significance of automated data analysis. Three different experimental setups were developed and applied in the fields of asymmetric hydrogenation, hydroformylation, dehydrogenation of liquid organic hydrogen carriers and photocatalytic reactions, with the aim to understand the respective catalytic systems. |
