It is not surprising that major class of biomaterials is represented by calcium phosphate ceramics, for they possess similar composition to the mineral phase of bone. In this work a novel bioceramic containing silica is developed, and its composition, structure, mechanical, thermal, in vitro and in vivo performance is studied.
