The first chapter contains the synthesis of novel 3-arylthio-1-silyloxy-1,3-butadienes in two steps. The second chapter includes the regioselective synthesis of 2-(arylthio)benzoates by the first catalytic [3+3] cyclocondensations of 3-arylthio-1-trimethylsilyloxy-1,3-butadienes with 1,1,3,3-tetramethoxypropane. The thrid chapter contains the regioselective synthesis of 4-arylthio-2-hydroxy-homophthalates by [4+2] cycloaddition of 3-arylthio-1-silyloxy-1,3-butadienes with dimethyl allene-1,3-dicarboxylate. The fourth chapter is about regioselective synthesis of 2-arylthio-4-methoxybenzoates and 2-arylthio-6-(methylthio)benzoates.
