Genome analyses of Bacillus sp. JG-B53 were used to identify bacterial strategies to handle heavy metal polluted environments. The heterologous expression of the silent S-layer like protein gene sllB of L. sphaericus JG-A12 in E. coli induced distinct morphological modifications. Investigations identified SllB, to inhibit bacterial cell division. The filamentous structures were used for the design of polyelectrolyte capsules.</field><field name="allMeta">Die bakteriellen Isolate Lysinibacillus sphaericus JG-A12 und JG-B53 wurden aus einer mit Schwermetallen kontaminierten Uranabfallhalde isoliert. Genome analyses of Bacillus sp. JG-B53 were used to identify bacterial strategies to handle heavy metal polluted environments. The heterologous expression of the silent S-layer like protein gene sllB of L. sphaericus JG-A12 in E. coli induced distinct morphological modifications. Investigations identified SllB, to inhibit bacterial cell division. The filamentous structures were used for the design of polyelectrolyte capsules.</field><field name="mods.abstract">Die bakteriellen Isolate Lysinibacillus sphaericus JG-A12 und JG-B53 wurden aus einer mit Schwermetallen kontaminierten Uranabfallhalde isoliert. Genomanalysen von Bacillus sp. JG-B53 wurden genutzt, um bakterielle Strategien zum Umgang mit schwermetallkontaminierten Lebensräumen zu identifizieren. Die heterologe Expression des S-Layer ähnlichen Proteins sllB von L. sphaericus JG-A12 in E. coli induzierte deutliche morphologische Veränderung. Untersuchungen identifizierten SllB als Ursache für eine gehemmte Zellteilung.
