    <description descriptionType="Abstract">The present thesis is a state of the art report on the characterization techniques and measurement strategies to verify quantum correlations. I will mainly focus on research which has been performed in the theoretical quantum optics group at the University of Rostock during the last few years. The results include theoretical findings and analysis of experimental studies of radiation fields. We investigate the verification of quantum properties, the quantification of these quantum effects, and the characterization of quantum optical detector systems.</description>
