In the scope of this thesis, metatranscriptomic analyses, biogeochemical rate measurements, and group-specific quantifications in environmental samples as well as investigations of enrichment cultures were carried out to resolve these questions.</field><field name="allMeta">Archaea der Gruppe Thaumarchaeota sind in sauerstoffarmen Schichten pelagischer Redox-Gradienten der Ostsee weit verbreitet. Ihre Bedeutung für den Prozess der Nitrifikation sowie ihre spezifischen Anpassungen an dieses Habitat sind jedoch wenig untersucht.
