    <description descriptionType="Abstract">The present thesis is mainly dedicated to the study of the synthesis of quinolines, pyrolo[2,3-b]indoles and 1H-pyrimido[4,5-b]indole-2,4(3H,9H)-diones via palladium-catalyzed cross-coupling reactions. This includes arylation of quinolines via Suzuki-Miyaura and alkynylation of 4-trifluoromethylquinolines via Sonogashira reaction. Consequent synthesis of a wide range of fused pyridines and their further modifications were successfully performed. A number of pyrolo[2,3-b]indoles and pyrimido[4,5-b]indole-2,4(3H,9H)-diones were synthesized with the usage of Buchwald-Hartwig reaction.</description>
