In the presence of seed predators, the number of seedlings was reduced, but density-dependent processes during seedling emergence, seedling survival, and fecundity per capita compensated the losses. In summary, to control weeds, seed predation needs to be combined with other control measures that target the seedling survival and fecundity.</field><field name="mods.abstract">Das Ziel dieser Dissertation war es, die Demographie des Unkrautes Echinochloa crus-galli and den Einfluss von Samenprädaton in Maisfeldern zu identifizieren. Samenprädatoren reduzierten die Anzahl der Keimlinge. Dichteabhängige Prozesse während des Auflaufens der Keimlinge, Überleben der Keimlinge und Samenproduktion der Einzelpflanze kompensierten jedoch die Verluste.
