Phragmites australis is the most dominant emergent macrophyte in freshwater to mesohaline peatlands. Other common species include Typha latifolia, Carex spp. and Schoenoplectus tabernaemontani. P. australis and S. tabernaemontani are resilient to salinity and frequent salinity pulses while Carex sp. and T. latifolia are not. Litter decomposition rates of these macrophytes do not vary in freshwater and oligohaline peatlands.</field><field name="mods.abstract">Es wurde untersucht, wie sich der Salzgehalt auf die Moorvegetation der Küstengebiete auswirkt. Phragmites australis ist die vorherrschende emergente Makrophyte in Süßwasser- bis mesohalinen Torfgebieten. Weitere häufige Arten sind Typha latifolia, Carex spp. und Schoenoplectus tabernaemontani. P. australis und S. tabernaemontani sind resistent gegen den Salzgehalt und häufige Salinitätsschübe, Carex sp. und T. latifolia dagegen nicht.
