We studied how they adapt to reduced P intake. Age and strain effects were significant for sensitivity to reduced P. While chicks are most affected by P depletion, older birds can compensate. Gut microbiota seem to play a minor role in P efficiency in the organsimal biosystem. Reducing P supply is possible but requires careful planning for optimal health and production.</field><field name="mods.abstract">Geflügel (Legehennen und Masthähnchen) müssen Phosphor (P) effizient nutzen. Wir haben untersucht, wie sie sich an eine verringerte P-Aufnahme anpassen. Alter und Stamm waren signifikant für die Empfindlichkeit gegenüber einer verringerten P-Aufnahme. Während Küken am stärksten von einer P-Verarmung betroffen sind, können ältere Tiere dies kompensieren. Die Darmmikrobiota spielt eine untergeordnete Rolle bei der P-Effizienz im Biosystem des Organismus.
