This research aims at establishing Bond-Graph models of a magnetically-levitated rotor in dry operation mode, whereby hydrodynamic forces acting on the blades and flow-induced vibrations can be excluded. The required parameters to simulate the model were obtained from the actual prototype. Rigid rotor dynamics, including the gyroscopic effects and rotor imbalances were incorporated within Bond-Graph modeling approaches. Available experimental results were used for validation. This encompasses the Campbell-diagram, the mean displacement and the amplitude responses at different rotational speed.
