Nach neoadjuvanter Radiochemotherapie wurde die Tumorregression bei 75 Patienten mit
fortgeschrittenem Rektumkarzinom graduiert. Bei 12 Patienten fanden sich histomorphologische
Hinweise für ein prätherapeutisches Overstaging.
Im Vergleich zu einer stadiengleichen Kontrollgruppe ohne Vorbehandlung sind CD4+
T-Lymphozyten, CD83+ Dendritische Zellen und CD57+ Natürliche Killer-Zellen reduziert;
die Dichte der CD8+ T-Lymphozyten unterscheidet sich nicht.

Tumour regression was graded in a consecutive series of 75 patients with advanced
rectal cancer receiving neoadjuvant chemoradiation. For 12 patients, absence of extramural
vital or regressing tumour was recorded, indicating pretherapeutic overstaging.
In comparison with a stage-adapted control series of 58 patients without pretreatment
the densities of CD4+ T-lymphocytes, CD83+ dendritic cells and CD57+ natural killer
cells in mesorectal lymph nodes were observed to be significantly reduced. Densities
of CD8+ T-lymphocytes did not differ.
