Abstract: The adaptation of drop-on-demand ink-jet printing technology for dispensing issues in the field of lab automation enables the generation of droplet volumes in the range of 50-500 pl. Among other things, the droplet disposition and volume depend on the liquid's properties and the parameters of the driving signal. For the use of different liquids, two major problems arise. The parameters of the driving signal have to be adjusted for reaching the desired droplet ejection, and the droplet volume is unknown. This dissertation presents practical automated solutions for dealing with these issues.

Diese Arbeit befasst sich mit der Anwendung der Drop-on-Demand Technologie in der Laborautomatisierung. Diese Dosiermethode ermöglicht das Abgeben von einzelnen Tropfen im Bereich von 50–500 pl. Die Charakteristik der Tropfen ist u.a. von den Eigenschaften der Flüssigkeit und dem Ansteuersignal abhängig. Für die Dosierung von Flüssigkeiten mit unterschiedlichen Eigenschaften ergibt sich die Frage nach den Parametern des Ansteuersignals und nach dem Volumen der erzeugten Tropfen. Für diese Aspekte werden, unter Berücksichtigung der praktischen Anwendbarkeit, automatisierte Lösungen vorgestellt. [German]
