Abstract: This thesis deals with the catalytic conversion of olefins to higher value-added products. The research focuses on different reaction like the telomerisation, which refers to as the linear dimerisation of 1,3-dienes with subsequent addition of a nucleophil, the dimerisation reaction of 1,3-dienes and different alpha-olefins and the hydroamination of butadiene. Isolated and in-situ generated N-Heterocyclic Carbene (NHC) Palladium catalysts prove to be active and selective in the telomerisation of butadiene as well as the dimerisation of isoprene. Furthermore, Palladium-catalysts in combination with appropriate ligands show high activity in the hydroamination of butadiene.
