Abstract: In regards to the Bundesliga is "The Network Football” based on four significant elements. In addition to the football itself as the starting point, recipients as the target group, mass media as the distribution channel and the economy as the financial source complete a social network of diverse wishes, influences and power structures. The empirical results obtained prove that mass media as a channel that produces its own reality is able to manipulate the behaviour of the interviewed professional footballers on the micro level and with that the "The Network Football” on the macro level.
