Abstract: The aim of the 4. German field study of the DAJ in the year 2004 was to obtain representative data on caries of the 6-7-year-old, 12-year-old and 15-year-old children of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. The representative cross-sectional oral health survey was performed by calibrated dentists. After random selection were 10% of the scholars at the age of 6-7, 12 and 15 examined. First grade: the mean dmft score of the first teeth was 2,58, for the permanent teeth 0,08. The 12-year-old showed a DMFT of 1,42 and the 15-year old scholars had 2.9. The trend of the caries decline continued.
