Während eines moderaten Hitzestresses führt die Kombination der 5' untranslatierten
Region des Phosphinothricin-N-Acetyltransferase Gens aus Streptomyces viridochromogenes
mit dem 3' Terminationssignal des Nopalinsynthasegens aus Agrobacterium tumefaciens
in Herbizid-resistenten Nicotiana tabacum und Arabidopsis thaliana (Col-0) Pflanzen
zur Inaktivierung des Transgens. Ähnliche Reaktionen konnten in transgenen Tabakpflanzen
erzielt werden, wenn diese Elementkombination mit einem anderen Kodierbereich, dem
des Luziferase-Gens (luc) aus Photinus pyralis, kombiniert wurden.

Under moderate heat stress conditions the combination of the 5' untranslated region
of Phosphinothricin-N-acetyltransferase gene from Streptomyces viridochromogenes with
the 3' termination signal of nopalin synthase gene of Agrobacterium tumefaciens mediate
a inactivation of the transgene in herbicide resistant Nicotiana tabacum and Arabidopsis
thaliana (Col-0) plants. A fusion of the luciferase coding region (luc) from Photinus
pyralis with these specific elements is similarly inactivated in transgenic tobacco
plants.
