Abstract: Biocides against aeroterrestrial algal biofilms on man-made surfaces should be replaced by environmental-friendly strategies, e.g. photocatalysis. To evaluate the potential of antialgal strategies, their efficiency has to be verified. This study investigated, how such analyses can be performed in consideration of (1) morphological and physiological adaptations of aeroterrestrial algae, (2) their living in biofilms and (3) characteristics of antialgal strategies. Secondly, this study examined and evaluated the efficiency of different antialgal strategies.

Biozide gegen aeroterrestrische Algenbiofilme auf Baumaterialien sollen durch neue umweltfreundlichere Strategien, wie z. B. Photokatalyse, ersetzt werden. Um Antialgenstrategien zu bewerten, muss ihre Wirksamkeit nachgewiesen werden. In dieser Arbeit wurde untersucht, wie solche Nachweise unter Berücksichtigung (1) der Anpassungen der aeroterrestrischen Algen, (2) ihrer Lebensweise im Biofilm und (3) der Eigenschaften der Antialgenstrategien selbst, durchgeführt werden können. Als zweiter Aspekt dieser Arbeit wurde die Wirksamkeit verschiedener Strategien untersucht und bewertet. [German]
