Abstract: Recycling of Phosphorus (P) is becoming more and more interesting due to the decrease of global P reserves. Field and pot experiments were conducted to study the P-fertilization effects of harmless biomass ashes on the basis of straw, cereal and rape meal in interaction with eight different crops. P supply with ashes increased plant available P pools (P-water, P-lactate soluble) in the soil. Especially on P poor soils with low pH values the biomass ashes resulted in high P uptakes and yields of the crops comparable to the effect of the high soluble P fertilizer triple-super P.
