Chemische Modifizierung und Derivatisierung von Isomaltulose

Abstract: Isomaltulose was subjected to substantial basic research in order to create a solid fundament for industrial and pharmacological use of isomaltulose and their derivatives. Using methods of classical carbohydrate chemistry peracetylated isomaltulose derivatives and their corresponding thioglycosides as well as cyclic acetals and ketals were synthesized. Parallel, derivatives with selectively protected primary OH groups were prepared. Based on it, an efficient oxidation method was developed to provide dicarboxylic acids of isomaltulose in very good yields.
