Abstract: Glioblastomas are the most common and aggressive brain tumors. The aim was establishing tumor models from individual patients (in vitro and in vivo). Modeling was successful from fresh and of note also from vitally frozen patient tumors. The models were characterized in direct comparison to the original tumors. Molecular features as mutations, amplifications and epigenetic alterations were highly maintained. Extensive drug sensitivity screens were performed. These well-defined patient individual models are ideal for establishment of individualized therapies and even immunological strategies.
