The aim of this thesis is to explore the relationship between soundscape and underlying
landscape in urban context, in order to improve the urban ecosystem service function
of soundscapes through a landscape and urban planning approach. Soundscape-landscape
relationship was studied on two scales, i.e. in a multi-functional urban area, and
in typical functional areas—city parks, based on case studies in Germany and China,
respectively.
