The objective of this work was the elucidation of the biosynthesis of the secondary
metabolite sodorifen, which is emitted by the bacterium Serratia plymuthica 4Rx13.
Therefore, the genome and transcriptome data of the producer isolate 4Rx13 and the
non-producer isolate AS9 were analyzed. The combination of genome and transcriptome
data led to a list of potential candidate genes, which were checked for their functional
involvement into the biosynthesis of sodorifen by mutagenesis. Consequently, a cluster
of four genes was located and further investigated.

Das Ziel dieser Arbeit war die Aufklärung der Biosynthese des Sekundärmetaboliten
Sodorifen, das vom Bakterium Serratia plymuthica 4Rx13 abgegeben wird. Für die Untersuchung
wurde das Genom und das Transkriptom des Sodorifen-Produzenten Isolat 4Rx13 mit dem
Nicht-Produzenten Isolat AS9 verglichen. Mittels vergleichender Analyse konnte eine
Liste von Kandidatengenen erstellt werden. Diese wurden hinsichtlich ihrer Funktion
bei der Sodorifenbiosynthese durch Mutagenese überprüft. Letztendlich konnte so ein
Cluster, bestehend aus vier Genen, ausfindig gemacht und detaillierter untersucht
werden.
