Siliciumdioxid hat einen Einfluss auf biologische Systeme und unterstützt den Gewebeaufbau.
Daher sind Silicaastrukturen gerade für medizinische Anwendungen interessant. Als
eine solche Anwendung wurden zwei Wundauflagen, welche schwach vernetzte Silicaaggregate
im Nanometerbereich enthalten, entwickelt und strukturell sowie biologisch untersucht.
Dabei konnte festgestellt werden, dass die Silicaaggregate die Biochemie der Wundheilung
beeinflussen und zu einer stärkeren Wundkontraktion führen.

Silica has an effect on biological systems and supports the tissue composition. Therefore
silica structures are interesting for medical applications. As such an application
two dressings containing weakly crosslinked silica aggregates on the nanometer scale
were developed and structural as well as biological analyzed. It was found that the
silica aggregates affect the biochemistry of wound healing and lead to greater wound
contraction.
