Abstract: This thesis reports quantitative UV/Vis-spectroscopic investigations into rhodium bisphosphane complexes which are applied in homogeneous catalysis. First the stability constants of some rhodium arene complexes were determined. When the coordinated arene was an aryl halide, its oxidative addition to rhodium took place. Selected products of the oxidative addition were characterized and tested as catalysts in C-C bond formation reactions. Furthermore the rate of the in situ ligand-exchange of neutral dinuclear rhodium complexes was determined.
