Abstract: Migration and differentiation of mesenchymal stem cells (MSC) and the endocannabinoid system are known to be involved in various regenerative processes such as bone healing. The non-psychoactive phytocannabinoid cannabidiol (CBD) increased the migration of adipose-derived MSC. The promigratory effect of CBD was accompanied by activation of extracellular-signal regulated kinase 1/2, activation of cannabinoid receptor 2 and inhibition of G protein-coupled receptor 55. Moreover long-term stimulation with CBD induce differentiation of MSCs into the osteoblastic lineage.
