Abstract: The presented PhD thesis deals with the synthesis of new chiral iron- and cobalt-based catalyst systems for the use in catalytic asymmetric [2+2+2] cycloaddition reactions. Firstly, chiral ligands based on cyclopentadienyl and indenyl derivatives for the construction of new chiral cobalt precursors were developed and their complexation to cobalt was studied. On the other hand for the first time the development of an in situ cobalt catalyst system with commercially available chiral ligands was achieved, showing very good enantioselectivities and yields in asymmetric [2+2+2] cycloadditions.
