Abstract: The dissertation examines the genesis of gender segregation in technical professions. Focus is the culture of technical profession, their construction process during school time and the influence on the professional orientation of pupils. The empirical basis of the research is a standardized student survey in Germany at regular schools as well as girls' gymnasiums and Waldorf schools.
