Short-term biogeochemical effects of agricultural management measures in soils amended with anaerobic biogas digestate

Abstract: The soil fertilized with biogas residues showed a lower affinity for carbon losses in the form of CO2 after tillage than the mineral fertilised and unamended treatments. However, high biogas residue concentrations in the soil seem to level off reduced NH3 losses by injection due to increased emissions of N2O, N2 – and presumably – NO.
