Abstract: This dissertation is about the deposition of nanoconfigured layer systems based on modified amorphous carbon layers (a-C:H:Cu) onto Ti6Al4V. For this purpose, a process chain has been developed that enables the reproducible and adherent deposition of differently structured layer systems in vacuum deposition processes (PVD, PECVD). Another focus is on the determination of the morphology, the mechanical properties and the adhesion strength of the deposited layer systems. The dissertation concludes with studies on the release kinetics of antibacterial Cu ions from different layer systems.
