Abstract: In this work interests of pupils are treated as an example if addressed theoretical and empirical levels in studies are a match in quantitative, empirical educational research. Along these levels "Diffusoren" − translation problems between theoretical claim and empirical realization − were identified and discussed as constructive instruments to address these transfer problems. The scope of these findings seems to be relevant for all empirical social research that uses quantitative methods.
