Abstract: This thesis is dedicated to the catalytic conversion of the different isomers of methyl pentenoate as bio renewable resource that can be produced from lignocellulosic biomass. This substrate has been tested in the Rh-catalysed hydroformylation, Rh-catalyzed hydroaminomethylation and Pd-catalyzed alkoxycarbonylation. The corresponding reaction products can act as platform chemicals for the synthesis of different monomers for polyamide and polyester synthesis. Additionally, some work has been conducted on the hydroformylation of 1,2,4-trivinylcyclohexane as an unuasual olefin.
