Die Europäische Union ist bestrebt, mit diversen Förderprogrammen zur sozialen und
wirtschaftlichen Konvergenz in den Regionen Europas beizutragen. Bedeutendste Elemente
in diesem Politikbereich sind die Strukturfonds ESF und EFRE. Die vorliegende Arbeit
beabsichtigt, einen verständniserweiternden Beitrag über die EU-Regionalpolitik zu
leisten. Der Europäische Fonds für regionale Entwicklung (EFRE) und seine Auswirkungen
auf die ökonomische Struktur in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern im Zeitraum 2014-2020 mitsamt
damit verbundener Herausforderungen, bilden den Bezugsrahmen für diese Arbeit.

The European Union strives to contribute to social and economic convergence in the
regions of Europe with various support programs. The most important elements in this
policy area are the Structural Funds ESF and ERDF. The present work intends to contribute
to the understanding of EU regional policy. The European Fund for Regional Development
(ERDF) and its effects on the economic structure in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania
in the period 2014-2020 together with the associated challenges form the framework
for this thesis.
