Abstract: Complex indole-containing carbon skeletons were built up by forming new C−C bonds by generating C-centered radicals. The generation can be carried out both thermally and photochemically, so that functionalized indoloquinolines were presented in radical cyclization reactions. Furthermore, a thermal and photoinduced radical addition of indoles with tert-butyl nitrite was developed in which, depending on the reaction conditions, the triazatruxene or, after methylene blue-sensitized photooxidation, 2-indolyl-3-oxime-3H-indoles were generated.
