Eine regelmäßige Überprüfung der Nierenfunktion bei HIV-Patienten in Limbe ist indiziert.
Einerseits ist eine hohe Prävalenz an HIV-asssoziierter Nephropathien wahrscheinlich.
Andererseits ist Tenofovir Disoproxilfumarat, für welches in Studien ein nephrotoxischer
Effekt belegt ist, das am häufigsten eingesetzte antiretrovirale Medikament in der
HIV-Ambulanz des Rgional Hospital Limbe.
