Abstract: The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of therapeutically used immunoglobulin G (IgG) on colon cancer in the presence of oxaliplatin. We observed that IgG failed to significantly influence tumor cell viability and tumor growth; however, it significantly inhibited the cytotoxic activity of oxaliplatin in vitro. In addition, we observed that oxaliplatin-induced the activation of ERK; however, IgG inhibits ERK activity. This implies that the application of therapeutical IgG to treating patients, which are receiving oxaliplatin, might have harmful side effects.
