Abstract: The aim of the present thesis was to develop and validate a qualitative multiplex real-time PCR for the detection of bacteria of the Mycobacterium tuberculosis complex (MTC) and (non-tuberculous) Mycobacterium species (NTM/Myspp.) from sputum and blood samples for the Institute of Medical Microbiology, Virology and Hygiene of the University Medical Center Rostock. For this purpose, the BD MAX™ automated PCR machine was chosen as the working platform. After completion of the validation, a robust working test could be presented.
