Abstract: A ileocecal resection creates a short bowel syndrome in wildtype and Nod2 knockout mice. The clinical outcome was monitored (weight, wellness and stool consistence), as well as the villus hight and crypt depth was measured. Moreover, the mRNA expression of NHE3, DRA and CFTR and Lysozym was measured.
