Abstract: The current work tries to position the supra-articular access between the multitude of surgical techniques for the lateral disc herniation attempted. The supra-articular approach is a clear option in the surgical treatment of lateral disc herniation. The early and long-term results were relevant with a rapid and sustained reduction in pain intensity (from 8 to 2 in the VAS). The greatest recovery potential is achieved in the first 6 weeks postoperatively (> 85%). In terms of full ability to work in the old job, a rate of 89% was achieved.
