Abstract: This thesis investigates the behavior of sodium hydrogen carbonate in the exhaust system within a wide temperature spectrum and for different additive particle sizes experimentally. For this purpose, a testbed is developed and implement, that is able to reproduce the conditions present in the exhaust gas system of a large diesel engine power plant. It will be investigated if the effect of surface sintering – that is to blame for the limited performance above 300 °C – will also occur under dynamic conditions or will be counteracted by new phenomena.
