abstract: |
Herein, investigations on photocatalytic carbon dioxide reduction and CO2 reductive
coupling with Fe and Cu complexes are described. Photocatalytic CO2 reduction to CO
and HCOOH with Cu photosensitizers combined with Fe catalysts was studied. In addition,
the reductive coupling of CO2 to oxalate by a Fe and various Cu complexes bearing
multidentate ligands was evaluated. Based on these results, the importance of cautious
analysis and consideration of competing reactions were highlighted. This work could
serve as a valuable guideline for future investigations on CO2 reductive coupling.
