Abstract: In this work, the unsteady flow field as well as the resulting hydroacoustic field of a hubless propeller were investigated by means of experimental as well as numerical methods. The aim of the hydrodynamic investigations was to quantify the flow field as well as to identify periodic, coherent flow structures and to investigate the connection to the hydroacoustics in more detail. From the pressure and velocity fields of the flow simulation, the hydroacoustic sound field was calculated by the project partner and presented in the context of the work.
