Abstract: For the design of vehicles, it is necessary to consider the structural behaviour under collision scenarios. Within the scope of this work, the limit load behaviour of welded aluminium structures was therefore investigated taking into account local processes in the weld seam vicinity and simulated on the basis of a structural detail. For this purpose, a new material model was developed based on heat treatments similar to welding processes and hardness tests. The more detailed mapping of the properties allows the local processes to be predicted in accordance with validation tests.
