Abstract: On the basis of semi-narrative, guided interviews, patients with an above-average DMFT index and years of dental abstinence were asked about their subjective reasons for avoiding the dentist. Through methodologically controllable qualitative content analysis and qualitative polythetic typing, four different avoidance types could be mapped. In addition, it was possible to develop an outlook for possible intervention and prevention approaches, possibly including an interdisciplinary medical approach.

Auf Basis von teilnarrativen, leitfadengestützten Interviews wurden Patienten mit einem überdurchschnittlich hohem DMFT-Index und jahrelanger Zahnarztabstinenz nach ihren subjektiven Gründen ihrer Zahnarztvermeidung befragt. Durch eine methodologisch kontrollierbare qualitative Inhaltsanalyse und qualitative polythetische Typenbildung konnten vier verschiedene Vermeidungstypen abgebildet werden. Daneben konnte ein Ausblick für mögliche Interventions- und Präventionsansätze erarbeitet werden, bei dem möglicherweise auch an einen interdisziplinären medizinischen Ansatz zu denken ist. [German]
