Abstract: This work deals with the question of how the process of learning can be observed in the context of the teaching materials involved. An interface developed on the basis of learning theories for observing the learner is described, which maps activities in the teaching material to a mental model. Topic modeling methods were used to record the learning context. These enable an inference of the information structures underlying the teaching content and map them to a mental model. Thus, a comparison of both models is possible.
