Abstract: Recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS) and aquaponics with African catfish (Clarias gariepinus) face economic problems in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern (MV). Therefore, the growth of African catfish was investigated, new aquaponic subsystems were examined, the development and current situation of African catfish RAS and aquaponics in MV was analysed, and specific recommendations for action were derived.

Rezirkulierende Aquakultursysteme (RAS) und Aquaponik mit Afrikanischem Raubwels (Clarias gariepinus) stehen in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern (MV) vor wirtschaftlichen Problemen. Die vorliegende Arbeit hat das Clarias-Wachstumsverhalten untersucht, neue aquaponische Subsysteme erforscht, die Entwicklung und aktuelle Situation der Afrikanischen Raubwels RAS und Aquaponik in MV analysiert und daraus konkrete Handlungsempfehlungen hergeleitet.
