Abstract: This dissertation deals with the association behavior of ionic liquids (ILs) and its influence on the prediction of liquid-liquid and solid-liquid phase equilibria in binary, IL-containing systems. The aim of this work is to gain a deeper understanding of the nature of ILs and their behavior in solution in order to model complex phase equilibria with ILs. The achieved results confirmed the existence of associated IL structures and the usefulness of including them in the prediction of phase equilibria.
