Abstract: Using low-cost and locally available raw materials to remove phosphate (P) from sewage and industrial effluent instead of employing high-cost techniques are one of the viable solutions to prevent aquatic life from excess P. Therefore, this research aimed to study the applicability of low-cost carbon-based (i.e., leftover coal materials) and rock adsorbents (volcanic rocks, i.e., pumice-VP um and scoria-VSco) for the removal of P from artificial wastewater in batch and column experiments.
