Geodatenbasierte Lokalisierung für Outdoor Augmented Reality

Abstract: The paper elaborates the challenges of augmented reality technology for visualization of geospatial data (GeoAR) and presents a localization method that is suitable for precise global registration of mobile GeoAR systems. The developed method is based on 3D geospatial data models as virtual representation of the outdoor environment. The paper therefore presents the main components of this user-aided AR registration method and discusses the usability and application potential of the method in detail.
